For a minimum contribution of $50, the card provides shoppers a 20% discount during the discount period (October 22 – Nov 1, 2020) on regularly priced merchandise at participating retailers in Austin and surrounding area. 100% of the proceeds from card sales goes the American Cancer Society.

When is the Holiday Shopping Card valid?
The Card is valid at retailers during an 11-day period, Oct. 22 – Nov. 1, 2020.
Do retailers have to pay to participate in Holiday Shopping Card?
There is no cost to participate in the program. By participating in the programs, retailers are asked to sell The Card for $50 each. For an optional contribution of $250, retailers can choose to have their listing highlighted in the catalog provided to card buyers.
How do shoppers purchase the Holiday Shopping Card?
Cards can be purchased online. Cards can also be purchased at participating stores starting in October or by contacting the American Cancer Society staff Ashley Monroe at 512-680-7961.
How do retailers process the sale of Holiday Shopping Cards?
Retailers can process card sales via check, cash or credit cards. Each retailer will receive a packet of information, including The Cards. Also inside the packet are credit card forms and an envelope to collect the credit card forms, checks and cash to remit to the American Cancer Society.
Retailers also have the option to process The Holiday Shopping Card sales using a SKU. The Retailer agrees to setup a Non-Merchandise SKU titled ‘The Holiday Shopping Card’ that will prompt associates to input the sale amount of the card, $50.
How many times can a shopper use their Holiday Shopping Card?
Shoppers can use the card on any qualified transaction at any participating retailer during the 11-day period, Oct. 22 – Nov. 1, 2020.
How much does a Holiday Shopping Card cost?
The Card can be purchased for a minimum contribution of $50.
What if shoppers want to share their Holiday Shopping Card?
The card must be used by the card purchaser. It is not transferable.
What is excluded when accepting a Holiday Shopping Card?
Sale items are not included in purchases with The Card.
What is the process for honoring the Holiday Shopping Card?
Please train your retail associates to ask to see the buyer’s Holiday Shopping Card along with a photo ID or credit card. For physical cards, ensure the name on the Holiday Shopping Card matches the name on the photo ID or credit card. For digital mobile cards, the buyer will present the card on their smart phone screen, including a “verify card” button. Click “verify card” and make sure that the name revealed on the mobile card matches the photo ID or credit card presented. Once verified, the buyer is granted a 20% discount on all non-sale merchandise.
